Introduction to Dataset and Motivation

  • Our project aims to investigate the different factors that contribute to customer perceptions of notable company reputations.
  • The dataset that we are using comes from the TidyTuesday project that uses data from the Axis-Harris PolI. It contains information about the company’s industry, company attribute scores, and overall RQ scores.

  • Company industry affects how consumers feel about companies.
  • Consumers similarly rate a company across all attributes.
  • Real-world events affected how consumers evaluated companies over time.

Limitations

  • Only have attribute data for 2022, so can’t tell how companies’ attribute ratings changed over time
  • Visualizations don’t necessarily depict the underlying reasons due to change in RQ score
